COUNCILORS OF THE MOROGORO DISTRICT COUNCILORS TRAINED IN FORESTRY CONSERVATION AND CHARCOAL SECTOR.

The Tanzania Revolutionary Reform Project has conducted workshops to all district councilors of Morogoro District Council at the Oasis Hotel in Morogoro.

The seminar was attended by all councilors representing all ward as well as some heads of departments and units of the Council. Various TTCS Project Specialists presented topics including Project Manager TTCS Charles Leornard, Bettie Luwuge and many others.

Various topics were presented and discussed at the workshop including the state of forest forestry, forestry opportunities, the objectives of the TTCS project, research findings for forest bombing after harvested forests for charcoal production under the caves Village management.

The project is located in 30 villages in the Morogoro region, five in Morogoro District Councils, which are Diguzi, Matuli, Lulongwe and Mlilinga The fifth village has not yet been selected for access procedures still underway.

Apart from personal income which those who are deployed in charcoal production. This project has a profound impact on the community as it facilitates the construction of village, classrooms, clinics, high levels of water and roads due to revenue available in the village.
