Morogoro district council to benefit from the community empowerment project in the sustainable management of forest products and renewable energy [USEMINI]. This project is funded by HELVETAS Swiss International as a leading partner together with CODERT and MJUMITA with a total budget of 2.22 million Euros.
This was explained in the hall of the Morogoro District Council {Mvuha} by the project director Mr Danieni Kalimbiya where he emphasized, "The project will bring positive success to stakeholders of forest products, especially to producers, distributors and sellers of charcoal" He explained that the main goal of the project is to encourage collaborative and sustainable management of forest products and the production of renewable energy.-
In addition, the chairman of the district council of Morogoro Mr. Lucas Lemomo has asked the project stakeholders to ensure that they use the three-year period to complete and implement the project's strategic work plan to bring productivity to the beneficiaries. "I want the various experts inside and outside this council to work together, add strength to the work plan and be at the forefront to ensure that this project is implemented within the scheduled time," emphasized Mr. Lemomo
And the acting executive director of the Morogoro district council, Mr. Edwin Mashala has sincerely thanked HELVETAS Swiss International, CODERT and MJUMITA for being project partners and asking the residents to use this opportunity to benefit from the development of the welfare of forest products, to protect and avoid the effects of soil erosion and to participate in the development of forests and the production of renewable energy.
